Looking for best priced crate motor or

I found a 6 or 7" crack in my block passenger side. Trying to figure out what to do. I found a wrecking yard engine with 116,000 miles for $1600 and also found a guy to put it in for another $800 but it is a used engine and i could buy it and have something else go wrong at anytime. So i would like some other options like a good complete crate engine shipper, or maybe you guys have some other ideas?
I paid $5800 for this truck and i love the old body style but so far its a pain in the *&$

I have bought used engines and it has been fine..... does it have a warrenty?
My local JY's have 6 month warrenties usually

If they can prove the 116,000 miles I would say it would be fine, Just be sure to look over the engine well for broken or abused parts of it.
I would just about kill to have a 116,000 mile powerplant
