Bad IDM?

talking to a guy about buying an OBS powerstroke he needs money and wants the truck gone but the front 2 injectors dont work he had them tested and they are fine does this sound like a bad IDm? i had a 1997 when the IDM went it shut the whole left side of the motor down. i dont know if it can go bad 1 or 2 at a time or if it is one side completely at a time.

Could be something as simple as a bad Undervalvecover wiring harness, VC gasket or external connector as well. Cheers!

^ I'm with Feeley on the under valve cover wiring harness. I believe the hot wire is shared between pairs of neighboring injectors. The controller pulses the negative. Possible steal on getting back to the 7.3.
