Arrghh! Oil leak...
Been tracking down a slowish oil leak that's getting worse. Coming from the valley area, going across to the passenger drain, and coming down into the start and TC cover plate.
Cleaned the valley dry, and idled it. Nothing. Drove it several times a few miles. Nothing. Drove 25 miles tonight, filled the valley enough to leak. Seems to be at the front driver's corner of the head. The front corner of the head is wet back to the passenger intake horn and under the HPOP is wet. But the top three HPOP ports are dry, and the oil feed hose to the head is dry. May be seeping from the hose inlet at the head, or that sensor at the front corner of the head. What is that sensor? Might be that bottom plug at the bottom of the HPOP, but I can't get under it to see it. Is there an oil port under the intake horn? Does the fuel bowl have some sort of oil feed? Frustrating... |

The sensor is the Injection Pressure Control (ICP) sensor and the connection is o-ringed as are all the hose-to-head connections and HP oil galley plugs for the "other cylinders" on the same head plane. Also the HPOP gasket could leak, Injection Pressure Regulator (IPR) valve, Engine Oil Temperature (EOT) sensor are also in the area. There are no oil feeds to the fuel bowl. Cheers!
