pulley width?

Installed a new tensioner w/pulley. Ford part. The pulley seems a tad narrow. The outside edge of the belt is just a tad off the pulley wheel. Are there different widths for the 6 vs 7 ribbed belts? Would someone mind measuring their's so I can compare? Again, it's the tensioner pulley wheel I'm looking at.

You didn't mention your year of truck. Ford has two belt tensioners for the 7.3 DI. The older 6B209 is for the 7 grove belt. The newer BT-44 (now also called 6B209 to make the parts counter jockeys even more useless) for the 8 grove belt. If all they did was input the part number then it was luck of the draw that you got the narrow one.

It's a 96. Thinking I got the narrow one. Don't have the original receipt. Hoping someone with the wider one could measure their's so I can compare.
