Please help!!

I have a 94.5 power stroke 7.3 it has been running fine I came home on my lunch break and went to go start it and it acted like my batteries were dead my friend tried to jump it and nothing so I took a volt meager and both batteries have 12.6 volts when I turn the key it makes on click sound and my speedo drops down and come back up when I release the key any thoughts??

Have you tried to tap on the starter my buddys starter went out and he thought it was the batteries but wasnt..and from what i remember it did the same thing..i got him to turn the headlights on and try to crank it and they didnt dim so that told me it wasnt the batteries

If it clicks and doesn't crank then it's your starter.

Ok I'll try that yesterday my starter did free spin twice before starting then it finally grabbed and started

I ent out and tried it and my headlights did not dim so I beat the starter and it won't free up any ideas on where to get a good cheep starter money is kinda tight these days
