intermittent starting issue

so drove truck home last night all is good went to start it this morning and it just cranks some white smoke out the exhaust and it just keeps cranking then all of a sudden it will start it dosent sputter or struggle to come on it comes right on as if u have just turned the key then drove it around to do some things and it starts right up every time? HELP

Because it sat over night and was rough to start I would lean towards glow plugs. When you say it started fine the rest of the time was that with the motor warm or an over night soak?

that was just the rest of the day but its sat all night before and started right up the next morning it dosent do it every morning it did this once before about a month ago but it went away so i thought nothing of it

My truck did the same thing, wouldnt start, then started like nothing was wrong, randomly. turned out to be the electrical connector to the injector pressure regulator
