glow plug wiring REALLY HOT!!
Hey guys popped the hood today and noticed the plastic cover on the glowplug relay was smoking. The large gauge black/orange wire was extremely hot! No codes. Any thoughts?

The relay has probably gone bad. Sounds like a good time to put in a Stancor relay.

Can you do the stancor on a cali truck?

IIRC the OBS Cali is a relay and a shunt. If that's the case then you can use whatever you want for a relay as long as the shunt stays in the circuit to measure the current.

You have to get creative with the shunt to make it work and even then I'm not sure it will fit under the decorative engine cover (if you have the "full" cover). Cheers!
