just recently i have been having this problem with my 96 f250 7.3l. It will drive for a period of time but then at a light or even while im driving under 60 mph it will just die. Sometimes it will fire back up but other times i have to open hood and drain the fuel bowl and it fires right back up sometimes blows a little white smoke but i was told that could be water in the fuel. I have tried using sea foam, diesel 911 and diesel fuel supplement. Nothing has worked i have changed the fuel filter 3 times since January. Any ideas would be alot of help. Truck has 3in dp 4inch exhaust DIY intake and super chips 50hp towing chip that was bought with the truck new in 96.

I'd vote for the CPS as well.

ditto, should take about 10 min to swap out once you figure out how to twist your body to get to it

I had this problem to,it was my fault,i did a EBPV to exhaust brake mod and i cut the wire that needed to be cut and taped it up and somehow it came untaped and rubbing on the metal fuel line on and off, there would be times it ran just fine then it would die on me,i though it was a fuel line problem then i saw that and fixed it and its been running like a champ ever since, don,t know if you did any mods like that but thought i would bring it up just in case,The CPS is also a good place to start i had to change mine before due to rough engine running that fixed that problem to,good luck to ya.
