STARTER UPGRADE
My starter isn't turning over as fast as it use to. I have a 97 , f 250 and I have new batteries. I have been told to buy a reduction starter from DB electrical. That powerstrokes have weak starters. The one they show for my truck has three bolts and my truck has two. Will this work and has anyone bought this starter for a 97? part#17802 and the price is $119.00
Thanks |

There's lots of threads about it. From what I remember, yes it will, but don't take my word for it.
New batteries, but what are the CCAs of them? Also, check all your connections on the batts, cables, and starter connection, as well as grounds to the frame. |

More like your truck has 3 and their starter has 2, and yes it does work. it turns my powerstroke over like its a ricer, but I will tell you, mine is a month old and I may have problems developing....I wont say anything bad but I did have to lay on my back in slush to wack my new starter to get it to engage
