Have this code that comes is on the speedometer

this code is e 08 6 when cold .and then it gose to 190cal when warm.when it reads 190cal. i can shut it off and start it back up and the it will show speed & miles .need to replace glow plugs& fuel bowl heater.how big of a job is it.thanks

GPs are not bad to replace. Pull VCs, there they are. Also check the GPR while you're at it. There's a sticky in the general 7.3 section about it.
Why do you know you need to replace the bowl heater? Is it shorted out? Usually you don't really need it.

For the speedo, it almost sounds like there's an internal problem, or even maybe a problem with the wiring for the PSOM under the glovebox. Those are things that come up when trying to reprogram the speedo. Cheers!
