how do i bypass a neutral safety switch?
My father has an early 94 powerstroke and 3 years ago had internal engine problems so we swapped in a 7.3 from a 97 powerstroke. He is currently using the 94 ecm and the truck runs and drives but accelerates slow compared to my stock 95. I swapped in the other ecm and the truck runs awesome and has great power when you rev it up, but when you let the clutch out all the way the truck dies
. is there anyway to get around the neutral safety switch to use the newer ecm? Any help is greatly appreciated guys.

As far as I can tell, on the 94 harness connector, you would jump between the Teal with Light Blue trace wire and the White with Purple trace wire (pins 3 & 4) and (separately) between the Red with Light Blue trace wires (pins 5 & 6). On a 97 harness connector you would jump between the Teal with Light Blue trace wire and the White with Purple trace wire (pins 3 & 4) and (separately) the Red with light Blue trace wire and the White with Pink trace wire (pins 5 & 6). Cheers!

ok, before i tried it, i made sure it was the neutral safety switch that would make the engine die. as soon as the clutch pedal was all the way out it would in fact die, I just unplugged it and bypassed it like you mentioned with 2 jumper wires temporarily. that worked, the truck runs good now... until you take your foot off the brake pedal. As soon as your foot is off, it dies. im stumped again on this one. im guessing that this ecm came out of an automatic truck, but was in the 5 speed parts truck he bought.
