96 powerstroke wont run

I just bought a 96 f250 7.3 4x4 5 speed with 289k on it last week. Shortly after i got it, it started running weird. When cold it runs ok but after it warms up the truck shakes really bad, sputters, misses and puffs white smoke. There is no power it just falls on its face almost like part of the motor shuts off. The problem is intermittent and it starts to clear up but still doesnt run like it should. I have replaced the the CPS, air filter, fuel filter and cleaned the fuel bowl and the screen. Ive done some reading but not really sure what it could be or where to start. Also there are no codes. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Start with UVCH and associated wiring. Are you familiar with that? Super common on the old 7.3s. Could be a few other things too but start there.

I was thinking it could be that but the guy i bought it from said he just had them replaced... but ill look into anyways. Is it hard to do?

Not bad if you are handy but it involves pulling your valve covers. Start by inspecting it all before you go buy anything.

After that could be any of the usual OBS acronyms...IDM, IPR, ICP...
