97 psd issues

ok i know a little about diesels but nothin about electronic controled units. my truck starts and idles fine and runs down the road ok till you need to get up around 50+. it does not smoke ever like im not gettin enough fuel or my injectors are messed up. any one have any idea on the problem?

Power issues are often fuel related. Replaced the filter and pre-screen recently ('94.5 had a pre-screen, not sure if the '97 does)?


-'99 F250 7.3L PSD 4x4 (SCLB, 6-speed)

Should be mounted on the fuel bowl.

Where on it. I pulled the filter old one was clean but not sure what you mean by fuel bowl?

when you take the fuel cap off, remove filter and a/b 1/4 inch down from thread at top where threads are to the driver side of vehicle theres a screen a/b 1/4 inch back, probably very clogged up, mine was. take some q-tips to clean

96 f250 4x4 zf5 trans. 6637 air filter mod.

figured out my line from the manifold to the presure regulator was blown out. 1/4" hose about 1' fixed it
