Hey guys I have a Snap On Diagnostic Scanner.
Im trying to read my dads truck codes, But for some reason it wont communicate with the PCM. It will plug into the port and power up but never hooks up. I have the right software and eveerything. I just read codes in my other truck 95 7.3 psd (manual) Same type of truck. it linked great and ran tests perfectly. But it wont on my dads truck. I have the OBD2 port, and a K2 key. along with Ford Diesel INsight cartridge. I have a feeling the computer is fried. i also found that the UVCH connectors are bad. and were Smoking th other day when i started it |

Most OBD2 systems werent put into production until 1996, the truck probably has an OBD1 system.

Is there power at the OBD Port (pin 16, lower outermost pin on passenger side)? Does the Cigar lighter work? Cheers!
