How do I get the damned thing out?

Bolts in the bottom, should be 2 in the bottom of the box or on the outsides. I need to pull mine soon

Remove the lid, then give the bottom part a good hard tug and it will come out. It's installed on studs with rubber isolators that fit pretty tight.

There is one nut on the fender side. I lost that nut and wish I hadn't. Sigh...

Why? Does that nut on the factory air box make a difference when you swap it out

No, it doesn't make a difference, but I am thinking about putting the airbox back in with a Kool Blue filter. If I recall correctly, that nut had a washer swaged onto it. It is not a big deal, just would have saved a trip to the hardware store or junk yard.
