96 f-250- just dies while driving down the road

This is an intermittent problem. While driving down the road the truck just dies almost as if someone shut it off. In order to get it to start again you have to unhook the battery terminals for like 15 minutes; then it fires right up. It may run for 15 minutes or 2 days until it does it again. Not sure what the problem is, maybe ECM? The cam position sensor had been changed about a year or so ago. I just want some solid advice before making guesses because a ECM is an expensive guess. Thanks!
