need help!!!!!!!!!
i have a 96 f250 powerstroke that just died going down the highway i put a new cps in and it has good fuel pressure no smoke coming out of pipe and wait to start light comes on and all fuses are good where should i look next im getting lost as for im a aprentice

Yes tach moves I got 55 psi fuel press got good hpop pressure all wiring is good and same with fuses

GPR?? If you got fuel and everything is good like you say it sounds like no power to GP's. Check your relay, and harness.

I checked all the gp's and harness and relays I think it might be idm I'm goIng to test that next to eliminate that it's starting to bug me now

Very unlikely it's the glow plugs; they don't cause the engine to quit. And if you tried to re-start it right away, your GP circuit could be completely dead and a hot engine should start on its own.
Tach and WTS means the CPS and PCM are (most likely) good, CPS is probably telling the PCM the right times to fire. But no smoke means no fuel, which is sounding more, indeed, like the IDM. Pull it off the truck and give it a shake and see if you hear water sloshing in it. Not uncommon. |

Well I just tested the idm got power going in but no power out I think I found my problem thank you very much for the replys I love this website

Look up auto computer exchange in Fla. I just got mine from them on Thursday for $139 and lifetime warranty.

IDMs show up all the time in Classifeds, here and on the "nation". They're not year/model/option specific like the PCM; supposedly even an SD IDM will run.
