Truck just dies.

Can anyone give me some advise as to what is causing this. 96 F250 PSD just dies intermitantly. It will restart just fine but sometimes it just flat out dies. I had just bought the truck a week ago so I dont know what maintenance has been done. I ordered a new fuel filter that should be here today. I'm going to check my battery connections next. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

the cam position sensors are notoriously bad on the 7.3's. Ford has a updated version that is more reliable. start there................

Cam sensor is also under a current safety recall. Might be a free fix. Call your local Ford dealer and give them the VIN number, they can tell you if your vehicle is under the recall.
