Help ASAP PLEASE....
Im not getting any help else where and cant find much info via google, atleast not that I think so....
I replaced my HPOP on my 95 a couple weeks ago because the end of mine blew out, so I bought a used one from a member on another forum, only thing I had to do to it was put the IPR off my old one on it. When I was installing the FPR, I cracked it, so bought another one and put it on a few days ago and have yet to get it to start. Ive checked all the wire connection prolly 10 times each, taken the HPOP res off and checked the gear. Check all wires again...Checked fuel pressure and its at 50. Oil pressure gauge goes to "normal" after about 5 or so seconds of turning over. #22 fuse is good too. I check the heat inside the bowl with a tester and it has power, so do the wires going into the IPR...If any of that helps. IF, its just air in the lines, how long good it take? Ive prolly spent 10 or so hours turning it over, letting the starting cool then doing it again and never nothing. Have it on the battery charger too the entire time... PLEASE HELP!!! |

Should fire up after about a minute of cranking-do you have enough oil in the motor? Do you know how much icp you have? There is a way to check based on resistance at the sensor.

Yeah its just below full on the dipstick. How do I check icp?

Is your HPOP reservior full of oil?the 95 is prone to have a drain down problem.Just a thought

I tried starting it with the ipr wire off and its the same either way. The wire has power though. I noticed that I dont get any smoke while trying to start it at all....?

It definitely wont start with the IPR unplugged.
Did the HPOP come from 94.5 -95 rig? The 96-97 HPOP is a bit different. If your not getting smoke the injectors are not firing. |

Yeah Im not getting any smoke. I read some where that I can tap on the ipr while turning it over and it might start? If so then I'll give that a try when I can. If that doesnt do anything I think I'll pull the pump off and clean the ipr...?

You don't have to pull the pump to remove the IPR. The IPRS are also different between the model years I mentioned.
