few questions

1) My truck has started idling weird. When I come to a stop light, it will idle normal at 6-700rpm and then jump to 8-900 and keep fluctuating like that. step on the throttle and she runs like usual. What could be causing this? It doesnt do it all the time but at least 75% of the time this is what I get.

2) the bolts that hold my up-pipes to the manifolds are getting thin and Im starting to get an exhaust leak. Im thinkin that if i cut the bolt out then I can knock the bolt and nut off the end with an air hammer then just put new bolts in? anybody else tackle this yet? Any help in both or one of these problems is great. Thanks guys!

With regards to your first question, my truck was having similar symptoms so I changed my IPR valve with an extra one I had and that seemed to fix the hot idle problem.
Now with your second question, it might be a good time to install new up pipes. If your bottom bolts are shot, what do the ones on top look like? Are the donuts on top leaking? I replaced my up pipes last year when I had the motor out of the truck. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Wheres is the ipr at? And up pipes look good and no other leaks besides where they meet the manifolds. Just wondered how much of a pita it was gonna be. Lol.

IPR valve is screwed into backside of the HPOP. It has a two wire plug going to it.
