desperate please help

History:
I have 97 obs 225,000 miles (new to me 2 month's)
truck ran great on the 200 miles home no smoke plenty of power.
Next time i went to use it , it was hard to start. Knowing diesel's I figured it was glow plugs. SO i did the injector o rings gp valve cover gasket job. Truck started to use massive amounts of oil (quart every 30 miles) and smoked like crazy even after 150-200 miles. Figured i f-up the oring's went checked them all they looked good didn't notice any cracks in the cups and the exhaust side of the turbo is dry soot. Still using oil so i put rebuilt injectors in. Still smoking and using oil. Now on the way home the truck stalled 3 times (started right back up) and started making a tapping noise at when accelerating and higher rpm's and ideas. Sometimes she stutters until 2000 rpm then stops and the smoke minimizes. Doesn't throw any codes

Man at first i was thinking maybe a gp relay and or plugs. but with it chuggin oil i am kinda stumpped. all i could think of it that the injectors didnt seat right. is it smoking at all?
