Alternator Problem

Driving home last night, I noticed that my amp gauge on the dash was only at ten (pegged on the "n" in normal). Runs fine, starts fine, no noticeable electrical problems other than the gauge. So, that said, I'm thinking it's the alt, but could it also be the idm? If so, how do I check? Truck in sig.

take your alternator to AZ or AAP and have it tested. more than likely your alt is dying

I work at AAP. And I found out what the problem was. Somehow, the main line on the alternator broke at the terminal at the back of the alternator. SOO glad it's a $2 fix instead of the $120 I originally thought. Thanks though!
