Question Help!! My truck lost power and stalled today

My fuel filter light came on this morning on the way to work but the truck ran fine and the filter thats in their has maybe 80 miles on it. When I would come to a stop the light would go out. As I started in in 1st (manual transmission) and got ready to go to 2nd the fuel filter light would start to flicker on as if shorted somewhere and come on all the way as i would put the wood to it thru the rest of the gears. On the way home the fuel filter light came on again 2 miles into my trip (I live 6 miles from work) and stayed on, as I got within the last half mile of my house the engine started lopeing some and shaking the truck and stopsigns and then just got to where it was missing and had no power it couldnt pull its self into my driveway. I pulled the fuel filter and its clean but the fuel level in the bowl was lower than I think it should be. I added a little fuel to bowl and fired it back up 5 minutes later and it ran rough for a few seconds then smoothed out enough so I could pull it the rest of the way in the driveway. Subsequent starts in the driveway yeild no fuel filter light or rough idle. What could be trouble here? My truck is 94.5 PSD with 5 speed
