started and idled fine then quit

1995 f 250 400,000 miles. Started the other morning normally and while idleing for about ten min. it ran normally. Then it died and has not restarted since. the wait to start light does not come on and additionally the glow plug relay is not switching the glow plugs on. any help or a place to start would help have checked all fuses already and fuse links that i know about but i am sure there are fuse links i dont know about open to all suggestions

Fuse 22 under the hood controls the fuel heater element, PCM, and the glow plugs...sounds like your fuel heater bit the dust like mine did if you unplug the middle plug on the drivers side of the fuel filter canister and change fuse 22 it should fix it

will double check the fuse to make sure however fuel heater wiring melted about a year ago and had to replace wiring harness on the fuel filter housing. To prevent that from happening i cut heater wire and covered with a heat shrink.

the solder broke loose and allowed mine to move around and short out
