97 won't start sometimes P0344 and P0603 CPS is new???

I really need some input from you guys! I am helping someone with a 97 PSD, which runs sometimes, and other times it just cranks but won't start. The codes that come up when it won't start are P0344 (Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Intermittent (Bank 1 or Single Sensor) and P0603 (Internal Control Module KAM error). It has had three new CPS's, so it's not that.

I pulled apart the harness from the CPS, to where it feeds into the main harness and found no shorts, or damage. Where else do they tend to chafe? I am assuming it is arcing/shorted somewhere, as those are the only codes. When I watch with AE, ICP only reaches 280-300 PSI while cranking when it won't start. But Duty cycle isn't increasing, so I don't think it is leaking HP oil, or a faulty IPR. I own IDS as well, but didn't have my VCM with me. Oh, and no HP oil related codes either.

Please, anybody have any advice? This gremlin is a real SOB!!!

I also forgot to add, while cranking the tach does move.

Traded.. 03 6.0 PSD For.. Black F250 2008 SD LARIAT 6.4 PSD 4x4, Aries Bull Bar, Westin chrome running bars, Dura Liner, B&W Gooseneck hitch, Recon smoked taillights, Icon 4.5" lift, 35" Toyo M/T, etc... Running Spartan Tunes AFE PG 7, Flo Pro 4" DP Back, thanks to Cobb's Diesel. It has been great so far.

My CPS just went out and the Tach moved too. Does he have a chip in it? If he does thats your KAM code ( Keep Alive Memory) Get a DVOM and check ohms between the wires to the IDM and the pigtail to the cps. Theirs also a TSB about the trigger rubbing the CPS did the old one have wear on it? I've also gotten Bad CPS's right outta the box BWD part# CSS626 BTW i own a GREMLIN!!

No chip on the truck. I guess the CPS could be bad, but it is the third one he has put on the truck, and the thing keeps quitting and won't start randomly. I drove it around for quite a while without it doing it. As soon as I got back, I went to restart it and it wouldn't fire. It really acts like a short or something. I just can't find where!

It almost sounds like a PCM but do replace it till you check the ohms between the wires do you have accsess to alldata or Shop Key?

I don't have access, but I'll check the wires. What should they read again? I am thinking it may just be the PCM based on what you've said.
