My batteries in my 97 psd are shot i believe. Drove to work this morning and it was below freezing then a couple hours later went to go get some lunch and the gauge was reading way low and wouldnt start. had to jump it. any thoughts on a particular brand that works best? im getting ready to move to florida in 2 weeks so idk if that comes into play.

Motorcraft batteries are right about 110 a piece for 750 cca and 120 or 130 for 850 cca and have a 3 year free replacement warranty and 100 month prorated warranty. They seem to do very well.

I just replaced mine with Die Hard Golds from Sears, 850+ cca and spent 109.99 a piece for them, 3 year full replacement warranty and then pro-rate from there. Quick start, less time on glows and just seems to run better.

Try the Optima red top battery.... Try it, it will be the last battery you ever own for your diesel. I am getting ready to replace mine too.... I have been waiting to kill the ones that came with the truck and they are just starting to get sluggish on those cold mornings!

If that's in your 6.0 you are much better off replacing them as soon as they show any sign of getting weak. Otherwise it will kill your FICM.

The PO put some interstate 950cca rv batts in but they went dead the other day, i was afraid to drop down to a 850cca, since i run a lot of accesories, so i got some Die hard platinums from sears 930cca, havent had an issue yet, they will cost you though, got em for 190 a piece but they have 4year free replacement and 100month prorated.

Ive been hearing bad things about the Optimas lately...
