TURBOS for 1995 F250Diesel Powerstroke?

Does anyone out there have any good leads on an affordable replacement turbo? I was robbed over $550 on a dishonest rebuild job for a turbo shaft that had too much play in it. Well, it hasn't got any power and leaked a gallon out in a 70 mile drive so is parked. I am researching usdiesel.com as an option because they seem reasonable, out of Missoula, MT, but wanted to try and draw upon the experiences of others to get an affordable one that is REALLY going to work this time. My engine is newly remanufacted with hardly any miles on it so I have to get that turbo off. Thank you.

Check on ebay for some deals. There is a complete setup from an 02 on there right now. Turbo, pedestal, spyder, intake plenums, exhaust up pipes. Right around 500... Then get you an intercooler and some piping and you will be GTG..

Okay so i was thinking of adding an intercooler to my truck... Would this upgrade provide any added benifits?? Larger turbo sounds good, but what does that get me??

The intercooler will help keep you egts down. Im sure others will chime in with added benefits.

I think they changed maybe the turbos so I can't interchange a 1995 Powerstroke F250 like I have with an '02 turbo? I'm not sure. But I'll look on ebay too.

from what i have been told, the 97 turbos are better than the SD turbos are, plus they mount differently to the pedestal, the OBS trucks thread into the bottom of the turbo where the SDs thread into the pedestal from the top...the OBS trucks also use a rectangular flange to bolt the up-pipes to the turbo and the SD uses the V clamp...soo...i'm not sure if using SD up-pipes would work or not...the intercooler sounds like a good idea but i know lots of fabrication is needed to make SD pipes work....I may have a 97 turbo for ya, but as of now it is lost in the mail
