how to test for bad icp sensor?

i have a feeling my icp sensor is bad i have been trying to do the 5.6k mod and it does nothing and i am doing it right. the truck is not throwing codes is there any way to test it

symtoms would be it running rough, then when you unplug the icp it smooths out, Try a resistor of a greater value, dont expect the thing to be a hot rod, it really doesnt do much an imo isnt worth hacking the wires up, if you want performance get a chip
