Puff of blue smoke on first start

I had this before I swapped over the injectors, and was hoping that the new injectors would solve this problem. Only happens on first start of the day and clears up in 10 seconds or so. Idle is smooth. Is this a major component going out?

Thanks

Sounds like your piston rings are shot. You can do a compression/cylinder leakdown test to be sure though. Blue smoke indicates burning oil. The reason it's only visible on cold starts and clears in 10 seconds is because the rings compress when cold, and contract to make a good seal when they warm up. Unfortunately, mine has the same problem

I wouldn't count out turbo seals either. If it is the original check shaft play if it seems excessive could be from it.

I will ck that tomorrow, since I have to pull the turbo out to replace the pedestal orings. If that ck's good, I will have to do a compression/leak down test
