What is the best fuel pump for my 97?
I have had a some problems with the basic airtex pumps with them not lasting long. I got about 24000 out of the last one after i changed it twice in less than 3 months on the other two. I just bought a bosch from advance and it has carter on it. The airtex has carter on it. So whats the difference? 50 more dollars for more warranty? who makes the ford pump?

That's interesting. I guess I should've looked at the Bosch. At least it would be the last one you'd hafta pay for. I guess the only alternative would be to spend several hundred on an electrical setup.

is running an air dog system worth it or is it just a worse headache?

i had been told to get a bosch and that ford pumps were bosch. it may be that carter(airtex) is the only person casting the housings and different people are assembling them. i worked in a foundry for 20 years and we made alot of waterpumps that the only thing we done was change the logo on the patterns before they were molded. everyone got the same basic casting. I never would have noticed it probably if the first pump wouldnt have been damaged in shipping. When i got the next one i noticed carter was on the casting. I hate changing the damn things !! This is my forth one on my truck in 5 years.
