Ive got a 96 f350 dually with the powerstroke. It turns over slow which could be the battery or alternator, but the problem is there is a ton of white smoke when you start it cold. It also has a what sounds like a miss when you try to rev it up. When you take off it does rev up gets really quiet and smokes really bad(white smoke). Then you can slowly hear the turbo try to build up, start to whistle a little bit, then it will finally shift and be fine. It does however have low power all the time. I can never hear the turbo whistle unless it gets really quiet as described above.
It does have an ticking im 99% sure its an exhaust leak.
