Dash battery light is on

Just replaced both batteries last week with two optima red tops and since then the in dash battery symbol has lit up. It doesn't stay on constant but will flash intermittently. Thanks for any advice.

First thing I would check is to see if the terminals are tight. Next, check both batteries individually to see if one has an issue. Finally, check the voltage with the truck running. You should see 13.5-14.5v, don't rely on the meter in the cluster. If the voltage is much lower than 13.5 and the glow plugs have had a chance to shut off, you have a alternator issue.
