Draining oil when doing injector o-rings
Hey guys im in the midst of changing glowplugs/harness's and o-rings this weekend and just wondering if there is a trick to getting the oil out of the injectors before it all drains into the cylinders. I watched a buddy do it and he reinstalled the injectors and left the glow plugs out and cranked the truck over a few times but that just made a mess even with the valve cover in place. Just wondering if thats just how it has to be or if there is a trick involved. Thanks, Joe

under the plug in for each harness is a 1/8th allen head plug. pull that guy out and let drain for about 20 min. that drains all the oil out of the high pressure rail and minimizes oil going into the cylinders! you have to pull the uvch out to get at that plug

i know the plug, theres two of them, i know em. I was wondering about them but it looked to me like that was the fuel rail.
uvch= under valve cover harness right???? And when you do this job are you supposed to manually refill the hpop resevoir???? |

you dont have to refill the hpop. it stays full. your just draining the rails. and yes uvch (under valve cover harness)

i already got my injectors out and been working on draining all the fluids from the cylinders before i put the injectors back in can i still pull that plug and have all the oil drain so it would be easier to get the fluid out of the cylinders or do i just need to crank it over and cause a big mess?
