glow plugs
ok so whats the normal cost for replacing glow plugs? is this a 6 hr job? 4? etc.... i know the cost of plugs, gaskets but labor is my question

I think I did it in about 3 hours last time I did it, and that was taking my time. It's a simple job to do yourself.

so i am looking at changing my glowplugs, anyone got a "how-to"? 95 f350 7.3

Remove intake
Pull foil back on AC box, remove small vacuum box (2 screws) Pull valve covers (this is the hardest part actually)- 13mm and you'll need a variety of extensions, a swivel, a gear wrench if you don't want to pull the CCV doghouse off, a standard and a deep well socket. Unplug glow plugs Loosen glow plug- 10mm deep well 1/4" drive. Spin it loose a few good turns then remove the socket (or it gets jammed against the injector hold down) Use some vacuum tubing or something else snug fitting over the end of the glow plug, finish unscrewing it and lift the glow plug out That's it in a nutshell. |
