Hey guys, I've got an issue with my 97 7.3. I've just gone over the entire engine, all new seals and o-rings. The issue at hand is that the truck cranks over for a very long time before it will start. I have to feather the fuel pedal and it cranks 30 to 40 seconds before it will chug to life. The HPOP reservoir is full, it smokes un-burnt fuel from the exhaust. It had been changed an to electric fuel set up last year and the pressure at the regulator is good. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.
Even with the block heater the truck still doesn't want to start correctly, The batteries are both brand new, as are the terminals. It turns over great but still is taking 30 to 40 seconds to start.
I tested the glow plugs, found one bad one. Tested the valve cover gasket wires, and the wires from the glow plug relay to the valve cover gaskets. Im not sure what the issue is, possibly bad injector (s)?
Tested the HPOP with Torque Pro l, it idles around 650, full throttle it hits 2300 and then drops immediately to between 1300 and 1500, is that normal?
