Squeaking from the left rear

My truck has a squeaking sound that seems as if it's coming from the left rear. Some days it's bad and some days it doesn't really do it at all.

Today it was squeaking pretty bad after getting off the highway. I believe it was doing it on the highway as well but I had my windows up, so I'm not really sure. After taking sharp right turn onto a street while using the brakes, the noise stopped completely. It did start up again, but much later on when I was on the way back home a few hours later.

I know that the e-brake was dragging bad when I first got the truck. I managed to get it mostly unstuck, so it's not nearly as bad as it was. I can actually touch the drum without burning myself after driving now. I don't believe this is where the noise is coming from, but I could be wrong. I'm thinking it's a suspension related part, but not sure what. Any thoughts?

If you over heated the brakes, your drum is probably glazed and causing the intermittent squeak. Also - the shoes may be cracked from overheating. If so, parts of the actual material on the shoe may expand when hot, causing the noise. Mine is actually doing something similar. Hate to say it, but replace everything you can while in there. I didn't and now I have glazed drum, cracked shoes and worn out star wheel adjuster. It sounds the same as your symptoms. Good luck!
