Question concerning carrier bearing on rear driveshaft..

I read online that the carrier bearing on our trucks is not replaceable and when it fails you have to replace the complete driveshaft. Anyone have any experience with this? Is this true? Thanks for your time.

I replaced the one on my 94. It was a pain in the neck. I basically had to completely destroy the original to get it off (it shouldn't have been that difficult but it was)! My suggestion: Take the driveshaft to a driveline shop and have them replace it. Cheers!

My 96 wasnt that bad, knocked off old rollers and cracked the race with a chisel then froze driveshaft and dropped the new bearing on.
