Posi?

Newbie here. Just picked up a 96 quad-cab dually. Did this come stock with a posi, or was it an option?
Thanks - Bill

Most likely it is either a limited slip or open carrier. You can check by jacking up the rear end put the truck in neutral and spin the tires by hand on one side , if the tires on the opposite side spin the same direction it may be a limited slip it the tires spin the opposite direction it is a open carrier. Confirm this by putting the truck back in park or gear and try to spin the tires again, same thing tires on opposite side will spin opposite direction with little effort if open and if it takes a bunch of effort to spin the tires on the other side but it will be turning opposite direction it is limited if you cannot spin the tires then someone has installed a posi carrier. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say
