97 cc 350 clunk when going into 4x4

Evaluating a purchase. Apparently the owner states that it when going into 4x4 it makes a clunk, clunk clunk noise. The 4x4 works great but it just makes this noise. Should this be a major issue of concern for me? Owner has no receipts for things done because he did it all himself on the ranch. 237k miles, 5speed all power options. It has a mismatched white bed but that isn't an issue as i plan to throw my flatbed on it. He wants $5,100.

We have worked on a tentative agreement, $2500 cash, my 1995 dodge ram 1500 4x2 with 96k kbbs at $1500 or less, and several firearms about $1k worth. Should this be an ok purchase?
