Front end vibration and grinding

Ok guys, I have a vibration and coming from my front end, but it only occurs when the front hubs are locked. I also get a clunk when I go over some larger bumps in the road. The truck rides as smooth as glass when I have the hubs unlocked. I have manual locking hubs.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, this is bugging the crap out of me!

Also, I have pinpointed the noise to be coming from the drivers side. I determined this when I unlocked the drivers side hub and the sounds and vibration stopped. It almost sounds like a bad wheel bearing, but those were checked when I replaced the front brakes 4 months ago.

Any Ideas would be great since I can't afford to just throw new parts at it and find out that wasn't the problem.

Sounds like maybe the joint. Get under there and wiggle it and check to see if it's loose, of so then she's junk.

I was leaning towards that being the problem, but wanted to get another opinion before I just start replacing parts
