Overdrive??

Okay so driving my 95 f-250 earlier this evening and after a few minutes I notice that the overdrive OFF light is blinking, so I pull over, try to hit the button a few times and nothing happens, it continues to blink. So I restarted the car and head for home and about 15 minutes later it starts happening again. I also feel like when the light is flashing the truck shifts very violently. Any helps really appreciated

The flashing overdrive light is a transmission warning. This happened to me in my '97 F250. I pulled over but couldn't determine a problem so kept going. When I drove a few more miles to where I was going, transmission fluid was pouring out of the transmission and it had to be replaced.
