Your brake light comes on because under the hood their is a sensor that has a vacuum hose comming from it it comes on to tell you that the vacuum pump is going out or its not working at all. As far as the fluid leak goes its a master cylinder the rear seal starts to leak and fluid runs down the booster. Get it fix fast or you'll be buying a booster as well. Brake fluid will eat through the rubber diaphram and cause the booster to quit working. If you can grab a vacuum gauge and tie into one of the hoses under the hood. Do you notice the a/c to start to come out of diffrent vents as well?

If you notice it takes a while to change the vents from say floor to defrost or not at all it's prob the vacuum pump. Check all the hoses a d make sued they are all connected and with out cracks. Good luck.
