Need HELP on a Twin I-beam

ok guys. Me and a friend of mine got some good ideas saturday night that ended in a friend of mine shattering his drivers side axle shafts. he got new ones today and we went to replace them, however he says there is a nut in there. he says it looks likesomewhere close to 2 5/8" or 2 3/4". i was just wondering if anyone knows what size it is thanks in advance for any help
