Steering problem?

Hey everyone. My steering on my 97 F350 is loose. I always have to correct the direction of the truck when i hit some bumps. It likes to turn a little when i do. Also when i'm drivin down a street thats pitched to the right i have to turn the wheel to the left a little to keep it going straight. Anyone know what would cause loose steering like that?

Have you checked all the joints in the front end? (tie rod ends, drag link ends, ball joints, track bar etc...) Looseness in any of those could cause that. Excess play in the steering gear can too. Tire wear OK? Alignment issues can cause steering weirdness as well.

Everything feels tight in the front end. I'm going to take it to an alignment shop soon and get it looked at.

mine is doing the same thing i just replaced all the front end. I'm leaning toward steering gear how do you tighten it or do you just have to replace it?
