I have a question..

Hey guys i have a question. I noticed today while driving my truck when im stopped at light and then go when its green like halfway through 1st i feel a slight thud coming from the rear. I do not hear anything and when i get into the higher gears i dont feel it. I came home chocked my tires then put the truck in neutral when i did that i crawled under and my rear U-joint is tight but however i have a SLIGHT movement to the right it seems in the rear yoke or possibly the rear end. What could this mean is my rearend going, or what could it be????

fix the U joint, then make sure the pinion bolt is not backing out. I doubt it but its happened. Check all U joint when the shaft is out. Also if its a 2 piece drive shaft the clunks often come from the splines where they meet. Grease them.

Is your truck auto or manual? My truck was doing something very similar and ended up being the clutch slipping very slightly. Guess I found the weakest part when running extreme street
