Instrument cluster not lighting up

Hello, I'm new to the forum. Yall already helped me with a turbo problem. It was the VGT sticking. I pulled it out and cleaned it with carb cleaner put it back in and had no problems since.

I have a 2003 Ford F 550 6.0 5 speed auto with 149,000 miles. I just bought the truck from Dallas 4 days ago. Yesterday evening it was getting dark, I turned the lights on and the instrument panel and ac controls would not light up. I thought maybe the dimmer switch was all the way down. When I turn it all the way up the overhead light comes on but no cluster lights. I checked the fuses and they are good. Maybe a bad dimmer switch?

I checked the fuses ( in the day light ) and found the exterior lights fuse blown. I replaced it all lights came on.

I didn't notice that the parking lights weren't on before. I think it should have been labeled instrument cluster. But thats just my 2 cents. Thanks anyway.:bonk:

If you wondering what caused the fuse to blow I had installed a Alpine headunit and forgot to crimp the illum. wire tight. When it came undone it grounded out on the dash support.
