New Batteries needed badly

I need recommendations for batteries. I have been looking at the optimas but I don't know what size to get. I need to get these today. I have a battery that cracked lastnight in the cold weather up here in Michigan. I have been pushing these batteries for a while hoping to get as much as I could out of them. Don't worry there was no acid leaks, The battery was frozen as solid as a brick.

I think Interstate batteries are bar none the best.
I have a local dealer here and they always do free stuff for me like testing batteries or alternators and they won't sell me batteries if i don't really need them.
It s the service that i like so well i guess and the batteries have never given me any problem.

Might use this to see if you have a dealer local in your area.

I have Optima blue tops in my boat and love them. That being said, I got over 9 years of use from my OEM Motorcrafts, including winters in NE Ohio. When it was time to replace them, it was a no brainer. I went back to Ford.

I have the Biggest Yellow Everlast ones from Walmarts. I believe they are 875cca. My stock ones didn't last 2 years in michigan. But then again my truck also sat for 9 months. From jan 2003 to sept. 2003 while I was in africa. When I was in Africa I was switching the batteries in the Hummers from the ones that were in it to Optimas. Reason being they lasted the longest in the extreme heat of the desert. The original wet cell batteries just fried in the heat. In 2003 I replaced the alternator and batteries from stock to after market from an independent battery wholesale place by my house. In 2005 I replaced the alternator and batteries again. In 2005 is when I replaced the batteries with the ones from walmart. Now In 2007 I just replaced the alternator again. Being my batteries tested fine and the alternator was not working properly. I cleaned all the electrical connections. Now when it is down around 10 degrees or colder my truck won't start the batteries don't have it in them to do the job. So I need new ones. Being I have told optimas are the best I am thinking about getting them but I never ran them before. That is why I need some ideas. Also it is in the 911 thread because I need these today as soon as I get off work I am going to the parts store and looking at batteries.

Walmart carries trash when it comes to Batteries in my opinion.
The Interstate Batteries i bought were 950 cca i believe. Week or poor batteries will work your alternator extra hard and fry the voltage regulator on it.

I agree with Clay. Interstate is the way to go. Optima are awesome batteries but they are pricey!
