brake lights
Rear brake lights are not working. The one on the cab is working. I have checked every fuse, relay and traced wires. Trailer brake controler is not working plugged, I have unplugged and plugged it in no change. Ford told me to set comuter back to stock, I have a SCT. He said that the computer might be confused, did that no change(disconected batteries for 1/2 hour after setting back to stock. Any other ideas would be apprciated.

I promise im not trying to sound like a smart alek...but did you check the bulbs? sometimes they dont look burnt out when they are....and ive seen people physically inspect them and not see a burnt looking bulb and go down the wrong road...and this would be even easier to do with two out..if you assumed it wouldnt be the bulbs then..... The brake lights dont run through a module. They go only through the multifunction (turn signal) switch. they use the same circuets as your blinkers...so if your blinkers work you know the wires are good. If the brake lamp switch ont he brake pedal rod tests good..i would look at replacing the MF switch.... |
