yeah what he said, take a hammer and make the opening a little bigger, then once you tighten the clamps it would bring it back in...

You said it all fit the first time, right?
What happened to it after you took it off?

i did a search on "expander" and this was the only thread that showed up. Hopefully the problem was solved by now, but i figured if anyone ran a similar search, it would be better to just continue with this one rather than start a new one.

that being said. i got a used exhaust for a song and also need an expander large enough for these diesel exhausts. the reason is that although i managed to get the slip joints apart, you can see where they are slightly deformed from the previous clamping. I would like to re-true the opening of the slip joints.

so... does anybody know where i can get a LARGE tailpipe or tube expander?

If you have a local Heavy truck shop that does exhaust they should have what you need to reform your exhaust.

yeah your just gonna have to beat on it with a hammer till it fits, Ive had to do that with a stack kit I installed, its just a pain, you really dont want to tighten those clamps til you have it right where you want it
