engine die
well new here and not good at this internet thingey ha.
any way have 03' f-250 4x4 7.3 auto. cranked up last wed. and left got1/4 mi. down road and smuthered out an died let set a min. it cranked back spit sputtered blue smoke rev.it up an smoothed out ( thought fuel filter) drained an went about day ran great. thur. samething changed fuel filter fri.was kinda cool let it run an warm up no problem.thought f/f fixed. sat. warm left in a hurry an did it again.any way seams if let it warm dosent do this. any thoughts would be appricated also auto hubs not disengaging thanks. |

have you tried pulling any codes out of the computer?? could be a few things...could be a bad CPS...which is fairly common with these trucks....could be tranny related......or a few other things. Getting the trouble codes out of the PCM would really help..... Also...on your auto hub issue...have you tried backing up for about 30 feet to see if that helps?? sometimes the hublocks "stick" and backing up will release them.... |

First thing I would do is change oil. I have had this happen on my 2002 7.3L the first time it started doing it I changed the CPS. That fixed the problem now that it is a little cold out. It started doing this again. I was near the time due for an oil change. So I had my oil changed. I haven't had a problem since. I would check the level of the oil and also change it. If that does not fix the problem then Go with the Cam Position Sensor.

thanks is this somethng that needs to be taken in for or mabey like the other post suggested just change oil as i'm probably overdue for one
